Blue Jeans & Shirts Memory Quilt # 2

This week I managed to finish another quilt. This had a different twist to it . Its made out of mens blue jeans and shirts.
A friend of mine from Face-book asked me to make a quilt from her fathers clothes. He has passed away some time back and wanted the memory from his clothes.  She sent me some of his jeans and some work shirts with the logo on the breast pocket of the shirts. They were all knit shirts so interfacing each shirt was needed to stabilize the fabric.

I used the Half Log Cabin block.
Love the simple design of it and the other one is just a floating block.

Cal Dive was the logo on the shirt.

~ It's Good To Be Square Quilt ~

Man its been a while that I have posted anything here!!!!      Between baby setting the grandson and setting with my older brother, then trying to catch up around this house I have had very little time for any sewing or quilting .
My oldest brother has cancer and now living in a nursing home . With great care I must say . We are so thankful that there is nursing homes out there that really caters to the patents need . We took turns setting with him till he felt like he could be along and call for help if need . He is not able to get up on his own but the great workers there helps with everything he needs .
Thanks Rayne Guest Home !!!
I decided I needed to make Wil a quilt and it had to be one that was very quick to make.  I saw this one had blocks 16 x 16 inches. I  knew it would be fast to put together so I went with it . You can see the pattern here . Very fast and so pretty too.
Please keep my brother Wil in prayers .............

Here is what the block looks like

~ USA Flag Quilt ~

This quilt came from a Fons & Porter book I have .
I made this quilt many years ago. My daughter snatched it up and had it in her little apartment for a few years till she moved to the house they bought . I brought it home JUST to wash it and never gave it back. I got lazy with the quilting(had just started machine quilting) when I made it, really hate the way it looked. It stayed in a closet till I pulled it out one day .....
Last week I put pins in it then started ripping the quilting stitches out!! Now its all quilted and I am very happy with the way it looks.

Ah yea,much better..

~ Wonky House Quilt ~

This is a quilt I made last year for my sister for Christmas .
The blocks came from a swap I was in a few years back.
I (practiced)quilted it using the Baptist Fan stencil. The quilting came out okay.
